From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Oct. 30, 2020

Dear Voyager Community,

It’s been a wonderful week at Voyager! The teachers and students are deep into their lessons and projects and the year is flying by too quickly. It was fun to celebrate with all the elementary and middle school students and staff at their assemblies this morning.  Pictures below highlight some of the elementary staff character pumpkins shared at the Fall in Love with Books assembly.

Hello Middle School Parents,

It has been a great week at Voyager Middle School.  Over the past couple of weeks I received several emails from many of our students asking if we could have some fun activities integrated into our school day.  The students shared that they would like to be more connected to school.  What smart students we have!

Dear Voyager Community,

It’s been another exciting learning adventure for our remote learning students and our staff working on campus. Parents, teachers, and students have partnered together to make the most of our remote learning and discussed student progress at the recent conferences. The administrative team continues to partner with our teachers and staff to provide whatever support is needed to ensure the growth and success of your children. As we prepare for our fall break it is important to take time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and where we can continue to grow.  We’re proud of our students and our staff for their continued collaboration along the learning journey. And so grateful for all the support of our families in the Voyager community.

Dear Voyager Community,

I hope you are all enjoying the fall weather and beautiful sunshine.  The kids and teachers are all adjusting to the revised schedules and continuing to strive for academic excellence while balancing social and emotional well-being.  Thank you to the families that joined the Tuesday meet up to share what’s been going well in remote learning and ideas for continuing to improve our school community. Some of those ideas are already being put into action. Our Student Services Team will be facilitating lunch bunch groups so that kids can connect with one another.  I’ve also reached out to our PTO to help organize virtual playgroups for the elementary students and connecting new families with Voyager veterans.  We want to instill a sense of belonging for all even while we are apart. The Student Services team also held their monthly student socials yesterday allowing kids to play bingo and charades together.  Next week, we will be hosting another Parent Enrichment Night, “Raising Resilient Children”.  Please see the details below and join us for another informative parent evening.

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT VOYAGER ACADEMY ELEMENTARY?  Fall is in the air and VAES is ready to celebrate.  Here are a couple of things that we want Voyager families to put on their calendar:

VIRTUAL FALL ASSEMBLY:  You asked for it and we are going to deliver.  The VAES staff is working to create our next virtual fall assembly.  The assembly is scheduled for Friday, October 30 at 8:00 am (instead of the normal morning meeting).  The theme for this event is called, “FALLING IN LOVE WITH BOOKS”.  Some teachers will be highlighting some of their favorite books.  We will be hosting a book character pumpkin parade, giving students an opportunity to participate in a fall challenge and more!  Mark your calendar now for this fun event.
