Dear VAES Families,
We have had a great week of school!!  The teachers and staff continue to spend time with our students learning the rules and routines and creating a respectful and kind classroom climate and culture to ensure that everyone can learn and that the classroom operates safely and efficiently.  Next week, on Tuesday, August 28, we will have our Kindergarten Curriculum Night at 5:00 and the First Grade Curriculum Night at 5:30.  We hope to see all our K and 1st grade families!

Dear VAMS Families,

It has been another great week at Voyager Middle School.  This week I learned about protons, neutrons, and electrons as I observed models of atoms being created.  If you have an 8th grader, please quiz them on their science learning.  I also learned about a command and mixed economy. While visiting Mr. Ellis’ class, it was obvious that the students understood the concepts.  If you have a student in Ms. Vurnakes room, please have them sing Text Structures Baby to you! It’s amazing to see the fantastic lessons and activities created by our teachers.

Voyager Academy Care (after/beforeschool) Program News, August 26, 2018

Before/After Care News

The year is starting off great and we continue to be excited! Students are enjoying their time in after school. Each day we have age-appropriate fun activities planned for the students, which they enjoy after homework and reading time is complete.  Students with online homework assignments are provided with chromebooks to complete those assignments. The students have not had the opportunity to visit the library as of yet, so it will be helpful if students bring a book from home to read each day for 20 minutes during after school.

Dear VAES Families,
We have had a great first week.  The only “hiccups” have been during afternoon carline.  I have been amazed by how kind, flexible, and empathetic our families have been to all of the staff.  Thank you!! Also, a BIG “Thank you” to the wonderful parents that have donated their time and energy helping with carline in the afternoons!!  We truly appreciate you!!

Dear VAMS Families,

It has been a terrific week at Voyager Middle School.  I’ve had the opportunity to be in your child’s class more than once this week.  Each time I visited the classrooms or the elective classes, I was amazed with the learning that was taking place.  Mrs. Steelman had students reading, Mrs. Lecky had students working on their multiplication, Mr. Credle was teaching math, Mrs. Cline was working on an experiment that created an environment in which the students really had to problem solve, Mrs. Higdon had students determining which information was true and which was false, and Mrs. Thompson had students preparing to perform.
