From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Nov. 20, 2020

Dear Voyager Community,

The entire Voyager community, students, staff, and parents have been partnering together to support the growth of our Vikings this year. We are so grateful for all of you.  Next week, school will be closed Wednesday through Friday so that everyone can celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. While many of our traditions and gatherings will be modified this year, I hope that you all have the opportunity to spend time with those you love.

Oh my how time flies!  It’s almost Thanksgiving!  If you and your family travel during the Thanksgiving holiday, please be careful during your travels as well as during the time you might be with others.  Stay safe, keep your distance, and wear your mask to protect you and your family.

Dear Voyager Community,

Thank you to all students, parents, and staff that completed our Hybrid Return to Learning Survey.  Your input will continue to guide our decision making process as we plan for the future. Results of this survey will be shared with the Reopening Task Force next week as we continue to plan for our return in a hybrid educational model. The Voyager team has been preparing for the return of our students to campus and our hybrid education model.  Students have been grouped into three cohorts, Cohort A attending in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays and remote Wednesday through Friday; Cohort B attending in-person on Thursday and Friday and remote Monday through Wednesday, and Cohort C students will be remote full time.  Town Hall meetings are also scheduled in early December for parents to learn more about our Hybrid Reopening Plans.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Nov. 13, 2020

Hello Middle School Parents,

I hope everyone is safe and sound after the rains we received Thursday. I also hope that your families across our state are safe. The roads were certainly covered with water when traveling home from school. As you travel this weekend be mindful of the remaining water as well as the many potholes and other road problems.

From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Nov. 6, 2020

Dear Voyager Community,

What an incredible week we’ve had at school.  We had the opportunity to celebrate and honor our Middle School National Junior Honor Society students at a virtual assembly on Wednesday evening. These young Viking scholars exemplified the National Honor Society pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. We're so proud of all of our students and teachers across the school as they continue to deepen their learning and grow together. Our school counselors each held student social events this week to further develop relationships and support them socially and emotionally.  And we capped off Friday with an inspirational career talk to our 8th graders from parent, Larry Long. The career talks started with a student idea, was developed further by Ms. Farrish, the school counselor and the middle school team, and supported by our parent volunteers.  What an incredible display of teamwork and community!

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Nov. 6, 2020

Hello Middle School Parents,

It’s been a terrific week at Voyager Middle School!  I’ve been able to pop in several classes  and continue to be amazed at the way our students are handling remote learning.  I saw so many classes that had all students engaged in the learning process.  I could tell they were engaged as they were having discussion with their teachers centered around their lesson for the day.  I could also tell they were engaged in their learning process as I could see their faces.  Thanks to those of you who are supporting us by reminding your children to have their camera(s) on.  It does make a difference!
