From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Oct. 29, 2021

Dear Voyager Community,

FALL FESTIVAL IS TONIGHT!! We hope to see many of you at this wonderful PTO sponsored event.  Thank you to Robin Lalor and Elaine Bahr for coordinating the festivities and all the volunteers that are making this possible. Thank you to the parents that are continuing to host and feed our staff at monthly luncheons.  The teams appreciate your generosity and all the delicious treats. The elementary and middle school students enjoyed all the fun on Thursday at their “Day of Awesomeness” celebration. The Middle School has also had a fun filled spirit week and are celebrating their favorite holiday today.

Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Oct. 29, 2021

What an amazing week it has been at the elementary school.  We have gotten ready for our Day of Awesomeness.  We have prepared for our Book Character Day Celebration and then we are looking forward to the Voyager Fall Festival.  Let’s just say the students are a little EXCITED this week.  It is so wonderful to see true JOY from our youngest Voyager learners.  Thank you for sharing your precious gifts with us.  The following announcements will be helpful for you and your family for the week of November 1-5.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Oct. 29, 2021

Dear Voyager Community,

Our students and staff came back from fall break refreshed and ready to partner on the learning journey during the second quarter. Thank you to our student support team and the parents that participated in the Parent Enrichment night that was held on Wednesday night to discuss the important topics of mental health and bullying.  The student support team is seeking parent input on future topics. Please share your ideas and input on their brief survey linked here.

BOOK CHARACTER PUMPKINS:  Reading is fun and reading is important.  After fall break our classes will be talking about and voting on their favorite childhood book.  Next, each grade level will create a Book Character Pumpkin to display.  The pumpkins will be available for display beginning on October 29, 2021.  We will need 7 good sized pumpkins for this event.  If you are willing to donate a pumpkin to us please let your child’s teacher know.  I encourage your family to create a book character pumpkin too.  Mrs. Davis has created a video to show you how.  If you would like to display your family pumpkin at school, let us know and we will set up an area to display family pumpkins too.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Oct. 22, 2021

Hi all,

I hope all of you enjoyed Fall Break and that you and your family enjoyed some fun time together.  We are now in Quarter 2 which is really hard to believe!  You should have received your student’s report card via email.  As I reviewed the report cards I noticed that the large majority of our students are putting forth much time and effort in order to have passing grades.  I also noticed that we had some students who received grades that were not passing.  When I dug further, the low grades were because of incomplete assignments.  Please check your student’s assignments to make sure they are turned in or check PowerSchool.

Dear Voyager Community,

What an incredible week and close to the first quarter of the 21-22 school year. Students are working hard and demonstrating their understanding through projects, assessments, and the arts.  Now it's time for some relaxing together with your children. I hope you all enjoy the special time with your family over fall break.  It's a great time for hiking, apple picking, and pumpkin picking.  Baking together is always one of my favorite things to do with my children too.

Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Oct. 8, 2021

I hope that each Voyager family has a wonderful and relaxing FALL BREAK.  Can you believe we have already completed the first quarter of the school year?  Our students will return to school on Monday, October 18 and we will be ready to learn.  I encourage you to have your child read over the break and even keep a journal showing the things they were able to do over the break.  Finally, I want to challenge each family to make someone’s day over the break.  Rake leaves for someone, wash someone’s car or bake them some bread.  The list of deeds that we can do with your students are endless.  Thank you for being a part of the Voyager family and thank you for helping us support our families and our community.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Oct. 8, 2021

Hi all,

Wow, it’s here!  Fall Break is here and I think ALL of us are ready for the break.  I hope all of you are able to spend quality family time and that our students have the opportunity to relax and have fun!

As we begin Quarter 2, we are going to have positive expectations for our students and we know they can rise to the challenge.  If students are not following procedures and completing assignments, we will be in touch with you!

From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Oct. 1, 2021

Dear Voyager Community,

It was a beautiful week on campus. Students and staff are focused on mid-term exams, NC Check In tests, and teacher created assessments to measure growth and progress as we end the first quarter.  Our students are working hard to demonstrate what they have learned since the start of the 21-22 school year. Project based learning is underway and classes are busy preparing for upcoming project celebrations.

Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Oct. 1, 2021

Did you know that Voyager Vikings are always learning?  This week the kindergarten class was learning all about The Three Billy Goats Gruff while 3rd graders were reading Alice in Wonderland.  Our guidance counselor was even helping students learn the importance of showing Joy and Sadness.  I encourage you to ask your students what they have learned this week.  The following announcements will be helpful for you and your family for the week of October 4-8.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Oct. 1, 2021

Hi all,

I can not believe it is October. 1.  Next week will be a very busy week as administration of our first NC Check Ins begins for some of our students.   Below you will find our NC Check In schedule.  If our students have been participating in class, completing their assignments, and turning in assignments, the NC Check Ins should not be a problem.  If they have not been participating in class, not completing assignments, and not turning in assignments on time, then the NC Check Ins could be a little difficult.
