Voyager’s Science Olympiad teams compete in science related events against other schools. We begin preparing in the fall and compete in the spring. There are close to 20 different STEM events ranging from coding to forensics to astronomy. If you are interested in science, this is the team for YOU! Voyager’s Science Olympiad Program
Science Olympiad Team – Info meetings this week!
If you are interested in joining any of our science olympiad competition teams (elementary, middle school or high school), please fill out this INTEREST FORM. Science Olympiad is a program where a team of Voyager students compete in science events against other schools. We will send the zoom details for our upcoming info meetings to everyone who fills out the interest form.
Oct 7th 1pm – High School Team Info Meeting (9th-12th)
Oct 7th 7pm – Elementary School Team Info Meeting (K-5th)
Oct 8th 7pm – Middle School Team Info Meeting (6th-8th)

Voyager’s Science Olympiad Program
Science Olympiad is a program at Voyager where a team of students compete with partners in different science events against other schools. We have teams at all levels: elementary, middle & high school. We start preparing for these events in the fall and compete in the spring. If your student is interested in participating and would like to learn more about this year’s program, please complete this INTEREST FORM. We’ll be sending out more specifics about the program soon, in addition to scheduling some zoom info sessions. We are also looking for an elementary coach for this year. If you are interested in helping coach the elementary team, or any of our teams, please email Kristin Jantz at scienceolympiad@

The Voyager Academy Middle School Science Olympiad team put on a
strong performance at the regional tournament on Saturday, February 29. The
Varsity team took 2nd place overall and will move on to compete in the state
tournament at NC State on April 25.

B and C Team Announcements
The regional tournament for 6th-12 graders is on February 29. All students should be attended designated team practices on a regular basis and preparing on their own.
B & C team weekend practices: Saturdays, 9-12 at Voyager Elementary (12/14, 1/11, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/22). Additional practice dates may be added.
C team: Mandatory practices on Thursdays at lunch in Ms. Huntington's classroom.

Elementary in-school program: So great to see all our small scientists and engineers at Science Night! They “unlocked” the mysteries of the solar system, engineered vehicles to go the distance and erupted at least a hundred volcanoes!!! What an awesome way to end the this year's elementary in-school program!

Elementary In-School SO Program Update:
This is our last week! We’ve had a fun 10 weeks filled with lots of science activities! The Ramp and Roll kids mastered forces and k’nex building. The Super Sleuths honed their investigation skills with water solubility, acid and base reactions, and using iodine to find starches. The Sky Quest students studied the constellations, planets and the other objects in our solar system. We will have activities inspired by each of these classes at Science Night on March 26th 5-7pm!
