From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Jan. 28, 2022

Dear Voyager Community,

We’ve certainly had a week with wide ranging weather conditions and it looks like more is on the way.  Thank you all for your patience and support as we make changes to the schedule due to inclement weather. We send out alerts for changes in the schedule due to inclement weather via email, automated phone message, posted on our website, and on WRAL. Weather delays and cancellations are often tricky calls since our families and staff come from over 12 counties. Our decision to delay, cancel, or dismiss early is made to ensure the safety for all students and staff.  All before and after school activities are cancelled if school is closed for students.

Dear Voyager Community,

We’ve had another energizing week on campus with staff and students learning and working together. Unfortunately, we have also had many student and staff illnesses during this time and we wish everyone a speedy recovery. The Voyager team has done an amazing job providing coverage when substitutes have been fully utilized to ensure that we are able to remain learning in person on campus. We are so grateful for their commitment and dedication. We are also so thankful to have the support of our school nurse, Chelsea Skoff, to support our community during this challenging time.

Hi Middle School Families,

Oh my, there was some excitement in the air today as students heard it might snow this weekend.  If anything a little snow for sledding would work   but hopefully not freezing rain and ice.

Hi Middle School Families,

Can you believe the weather we are having these days?  We started the New Year with rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snow!  Jan. 3 was a Teacher Workday and due to the weather we worked at home.  Jan 4 was a Delayed Opening due to the snow and freezing temperature on Jan. 3.  Yes, we were able to come to school at the regular time on Jan. 5.  It’s great to have the students in the building and most of them were happy to be back at school.
