Seniors: Here Is An Excellent Resource To Find Scholarships

With scholarships for “Women in Stem,” for “Community Service,” for outstanding GPAs and more, the scholarship resource Goingmerry.com, is an excellent place to begin your search.


To find and apply for scholarships, students and parents can sign up for Going Merry (https://www.goingmerry.com) -- it’s free! Going Merry has thousands of national, regional, and local scholarships. There are also opportunities for every grade level, from freshmen to seniors. North Carolina Governors School

The Governor’s School of North Carolina is the oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students in the nation. The program is administered by the State Board of Education and North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) through the Office of Advanced Learning & Gifted Education. Each summer, selected rising 12th grade students are invited to Governor’s School to help build a learning community during a four-week residential session. The Governor’s School emphasizes collaborative efforts in all disciplines.

VAHS Homecoming (Semi-formal) Dance

The Homecoming Dance is only a week away. Get your tickets now!


                     


When: Saturday, September 30th 7-10pm
Where: Umstead Pines at Willowhaven

                     
Tickets: 1 for $20 or 2 for $30 purchased through LINQ Connect (see Mrs. Higdon with questions)


*Non-Voyager students can attend with a Voyager student upon approval. Guest ticket applications can be picked up from the front office or Mrs. Higdon B133 and returned no later than September 25th.

Students Must Leave Campus By 4pm Tue-Fri (2pm on Mondays)

Students and Parents/Guardians: Please remember that all students must be picked up (or leave campus if driving) after dismissal by 4pm Tue-Fri and 2pm Mondays, unless attending an event or meeting supervised by a Voyager Academy staff member. Please feel free to call the office if you have any questions.  Thank you for your cooperation.

SENIORS: PAINTED PARKING SPOTS

A senior tradition and privilege is to paint your parking spot. A $30 fee (in addition to the purchased parking pass) can be paid online through LINQ Connect. Painting dates are Sept 11th 2:30-5:30pm, Sept 22nd 10am-3am, or Oct 2nd 2:30-5:30pm. Payment, contract, and approved design must be completed before you can paint. Contact Mrs. Higdon (thigdon@voyageracademy.net) for details, contract and questions.



The Voyager Academy "Bring Your Own Device" Policy

Student life at VAHS isn’t all tests, quizzes and homework. We have Chess Club, Ice Skating Club, Gamers Club, Service Club, Computer Coding Club, American Sign Language Club, Business and Leadership Club and more.  VAHS students are encouraged to join a club or other extra-curricular activity! Get involved.
