Dear Viking Families,
Happy Memorial Day1  Let’s make sure we remember why we celebrate this weekend!
We have made it to the end of another wonderful year! Thank you all for your support, and for all you do for your children at Voyager!  As we receive final scores from end of year exams, teachers will finalize all grades and reports for you. Please don’t forget that math scores wont be released until sometime in the fall, so no worries!  We would like to thank our PTO for all their hard work and exciting events this year. The PTO has been an amazing group and we couldn’t appreciate them more!

Dear VAES Families,

We have had a busy and fun week (& YEAR) at VAES!  It is hard to believe that the school year is ending!! This week, our second graders had a special visitor, Elizabeth Gardner, to speak with them about weather.  They truly enjoyed her visit! Also, the third grade students and staff outdid themselves with a FANTASTIC final project celebration!!  They even had two FOOD TRUCKS!!  Each year, I think that their Durham project can’t get better, but it does!!  Bravo, Third Grade!! Be sure to check out more of our Empathy canvases that we have begun to hang throughout the school!  They are FABULOUS!!  Last, but not least, I consider myself blessed and proud to work with such amazing staff, parents, and students!!  VAES truly has the VERY BEST teachers and staff!! Even on “crazy” days, it is a joy to come to work!! Thank you!!  I hope everyone has a fun, safe, and restful summer break!

Much Love,
Leslie
VAES Principal

Voyager Academy Middle School News, May 27, 2019

Dear VAMS Families,

Wow, school is out for the summer! We had a terrific year at the middle school.  I am so proud of all of our students. Not only did we strive to increase in the area of academics as we pushed our students to excel, we also continued our focus on our Core Values.  We provided our students many opportunities to support others by helping the students of Pender County, collecting items for the children of Duke Hospital, and helping one of our families.  These are just a few of our total school activities. Our students had socials, a semi-formal, guest speakers, and ended the year with Shaved Ice.
