A Chinese Market at Voyager Academy

This week in Mr. Baker’s Chinese 3 class the Chinese Market made its annual stop at Voyager Academy. At lunchtime, the public were invited to come in and bargain with vendors selling various goods–using an interpreter of Chinese.  The VAHS Chinese program continues to flourish, as our chapter of the National Chinese Honor Society (in its second year) is one of just nine in North Carolina. Images of the Chinese Market are below.

Hey Vikings, Check Out All The VAHS Clubs

Student life at VAHS isn’t all tests, quizzes and homework! Last Friday during lunch we had a VAHS Clubs fair. You Can Help VAHS Students To Help Others In Need

VAHS Vikings, Izzy Kuehner, Suhayma Chaudhry, Alaina Bustillo, and Morgan King are working with Leadership Initiatives and GlobalGiving to hold the “Little By Little Matching Campaign” fundraiser.  This fundraiser is to raise money and to advocate for the community of Bauchi, Nigeria. “We are fighting for their human rights and for a safer community,” Izzy Kuehner.  Through the Little By Little Matching Campaign, GlobalGiving matches 50% of all  donations under $50. Our goal is to reach $1,000 for the community.

The donation period: Sept. 18 – Sept. 22, 2023
