The Voyager Academy community is warmly invited to Spring 2026  Voyager Academy High School Project Exhibition Day. Come see student projects in action and on full display, as we celebrate Project Based Learning.  Exhibition Day takes place at the high school on March 23rd, Monday, 2-3:15pm.



The NROTC Scholarship Program

The Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) offers valuable opportunities and scholarships for students who are interested in leadership, higher education, and serving their country. 

This prestigious scholarship offers students the chance to earn a degree from a leading college or university while training to become a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. The scholarship provides significant financial benefits.

The families of Voyager are continuing the tradition of providing the food and beverages for the Senior Breakfast and Awards Ceremony. This event is a tribute to our seniors, and will take place in the VAHS gym for seniors and their parents on Weds, April 29, 2026 from 8:45-10:30. We are asking for donations from our families. Emily K Center Opportunity Fair 4/10/26

The Emily K Center Opportunity Fair is a free college and career fair, highlighting pathways through community college, trade school, military, and employment. This event will feature short-term certificate and credential programs that students can earn after high school, as well as entry-level opportunities with local employers. Black SEL Summer Institute 2026
The Black SEL Summer Institute is a five-day immersive experience grounded in the Black SEL Framework. Students explore identity, leadership, history, and community through learning modalities that center Black joy, healing, and connection. In 2025, students demonstrated statistically significant growth in: 

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Sense of belonging

  • Leadership 

  • Civic awareness and responsibility.

Spring CCP Intertest Meeting Sessions AvailablE (Free Community College Courses)

Career and College Promise (CCP) allows eligible 11th and 12th grade students to take college courses tuition-free, earning both high school and college credits simultaneously. At the college level, these credits can be applied to college certificates and degrees or provide relevant entry-level job skills and preparation.  Classes are taught on the college
campus and offered online.

NCSECU People Helping People Scholarship 2026

The State Employee Credit Union (SECU) People Helping People Scholarship process is  open. This is a $10,000.00 scholarship for a high school senior at a North Carolina public high school who has been accepted into one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina.
Eligibility Criteria includes:
1)Scholastic achievement with a 2.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and be deserving of financial aid.
2)Must either be a SECU member or eligible for membership through a parent/guardian who is an SECU member.
3)Exhibited leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement.

See the information below. Applications must be submitted to VAHS School Counselor, Jill O'Kane by March 6, 2026 for a VAHS Scholarship Committee Review.

Volunteers will count and wrap diapers/pull-ups and prepare them for distribution to families in need.

Session is on Saturday April 18th 9:30am-11:30am

Next Step supports students as they explore college, career, and military pathways, while encouraging meaningful conversations at home and school.
