Dear Viking Families,
We have received some AWESOME donations!  I can hardly wait for the Silent Auction so I can place my bid on several of the donated items. Make sure you mark your calendars and plan to join us on February 23rd.

If you have questions, please email Mr. Eisenson at aeisenson@voyageracademy.net.  We appreciate all help!   The Silent Auction is scheduled for Feb. 23 and will be held at Umstead Pines.  Please put the date on your calendar! Please read the information below to learn more about the auction.   Please click below for helpful information.
If you came through carline this week you may have noticed that the lights for the stadium went up. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for more good weather so the project work can continue. We will be sending out an updated completion schedule in a couple of weeks.
Urgent news for parents of 11th graders:
Dear Parent/Guardian:
The ACT College Admissions Assessment will be given free of charge to all eligible North
Carolina 11th graders on February 20, 2019. The ACT is part of North Carolina’s school
accountability program.
The ACT results may be used at the high school level to identify students who need assistance
with certain subject areas or academic skills, to evaluate effectiveness of instruction, and to
make adjustments to curriculum in order to improve instruction. In addition, colleges use ACT
scores for admissions decisions, course placement, academic advising, and loans and
scholarships. Students participating in the statewide ACT administration can select for free up to
four colleges to receive their ACT scores.
Students should arrive at school and report to the High School gym by 8:45 am as testing will
begin promptly at 9:00 am. Students will not be admitted to the testing room after 8:45 am.
Please make sure your student brings several #2 pencils and a calculator. No food, drink or
electronic devices will be allowed in the testing room.
For additional information about the ACT you can visit:

College Day & Voyager Spirit Day:
One of our K – 12 School Improvement Team goals is to increase our school spirit school wide.  Last year, we had College Day on Thursday and Voyager Day on Friday.  We will continue this tradition.  The College Day Thursdays are days that all staff, students, and parents can wear their favorite college apparel.  Also, some of you may have noticed that beside classroom and office doors, we display small signs stating where our staff attended college/university.  We hope these activities will promote great conversations about different colleges and college attendance, especially with our middle school and high school students.
Last, but not least, every Friday is Voyager Spirit Day!  Wear your Voyager apparel and/or your school colors (red, white, and blue) to show school spirit and pride!!
