The Annual VA Golf Tournament is April 7th

Hello Viking Families, it is that time of year again for our annual Athletic Department Golf Tournament. As an entirely self-funded program Voyager Athletics hosts this tournament each year to support our athletes, coaching staff, and our school. We appreciate any and all support that this community is willing to give our youth as we strive to reach our goal of 100 teams in this year’s tournament. Competitors will have a chance to win various prizes while they enjoy a great day of golfing.  Each athlete will have a copy of the entry form and the flyer or teams may contact Deuce Harris directly to register their team. Again, we thank everyone in advance for their contributions and support of one of our biggest fundraisers each year. Go, Vikings Go!

Cell and Human Body Tour Now Departing C Hall
Well Biology just finished their whirlwind exploration of the macromolecules and found that they really "are what they eat!" They created some exciting visuals to pass along their knowledge and we can't wait for you all to come out and see them at Exhibition night. They are now embarking on a tour of the "Wonderful World of Cells". The students will be taking a stop by each organelle along the journey to learn more about how it functions to keep their cells alive. This stop includes an exciting project in which they will work together to create a 3-D model of a cell out of everyday items so they may ask to rummage around the garage, craft room, or take a trip to the Dollar Store! These will definitely be on display for you to see on exhibition night as well.

Not to be out done is the Anatomy and Physiology tour currently going on. They are beginning to make their way through the human body systems with the first stop being the tissues. They learned the different kinds of tissues and their function in the body. They got to see how the different tissues look and will be translating that into their project. We were excited to have Mrs. Clark-Stover come and teach us about French Impressionist Art so that we can take our selected tissues and turn them into a beautiful piece of art. The students also found something in nature that the tissue reminds them of to display with their art....Chaos Theory at work. The students will have these displayed in a gallery walk on the C Hall. Be sure to check them out at Exhibition night.

Visual Arts is in Need of Supplies
Hello from the art room! We are in need of some supplies if you can contribute to our classroom:
magazines with pictures for cutting up, yarn of any type,  and pantyhose (old ones, they can have holes).
Glue sticks and ziplock bags are always welcome.  Thanks for your support!
