Voyager Acdemy Middle School News, February 24, 2019

Dear VAMS Families,

Short weeks are always very busy and productive.  This past week was no different. Our teachers wanted to get as much material taught as possible especially with two workdays and a delayed opening.  Our students came to school Wednesday ready to learn – even with a delayed opening! Great job by all!

Voyager Guest – Mr. Price received a call from the office of Representative Julie von Haefen.  She was requesting a time that she could visit Doug’s classroom as well as tour the school.  Rep. Haefen was at Voyager on Friday. Thanks, Doug, for allowing her to visit you class and giving her a tour.

Parent Meeting for Rising 9th Graders
There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27 for parents of rising 9th graders.  The meeting will be held at the high school and is from 6:30-7:30.  Hope to see ALL of you there! It’s a great time to have all of your high school questions answered.

8th Graders Tour the High School
Our 8th graders toured Voyager High School on Thursday, Feb. 21.  The students heard from students as well as walked around the building. It’s my understanding that all went well.

Voyager’s Silent Auction
Thanks to all of you who worked with Mrs. McKenna and Mr. Eisenson to make the Silent Auction a success!  You certainly made a difference. We also appreciate the participation from so many of you! Again, thanks!!!!!

Aladdin is Coming – Yes, another fabulous musical is on the way!  Aladdin will be performed at the middle school on April 4, April 5, and April 6.  Please put these dates on your calendar!
8th Grade Graduation – Many of you have asked about our 8th Grade Graduation.  Our 8th Grade Celebration, not graduation, is scheduled for Friday, May 24.  We will begin at 8:45 and it is usually an hour. 8th graders may leave after the celebration.
Spring Sports
If you have a child interested in participating in a spring sport, please make sure to verify that the steps below are complete.
Obtain a physical and return form to high school front desk, Attn: Mr. Harris and Mr. Rice.
Complete concussion form and return to high school front desk.
Complete Online Forms and add the sport(s) your child plans to participate in.
