Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Oct. 29, 2017

Dear VAES Families,
We have been busy week at VAES!!  Last week, to culminate their character study, the second graders had their 2nd Annual Character Parade!!

lso, the Third Grade Case 21 Math benchmark assessments have been moved to next Thursday and Friday.

Next week, our VAES 6th annual Boosterthon fundraiser will kick-off with Spirit Week, October 30 – November 3, and a Pep Rally on Tuesday, October 31.  The Spirit Week activities are:

  • Mon., Oct. 30:  Favorite Sports Team Day
  • Tues., Oct. 31:  Dress Up as Your Favorite Character Day (remember the theme is Castle Quest)
  • Wed., Nov. 1:  Wacky Tacky Day
  • Thurs., Nov. 2:  Crowns & Hats Day (remember the theme is Castle Quest)
  • Fri., Nov. 3:  Pajama Day

Our goal is to raise $25,000!  We’re excited to raise funds for Kindergarten playground turf, recess equipment, and technology! Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps (30-35 laps) your student will run on the day of the Fun Run on 11/9. Students will also experience an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST! It is an English castle theme all about being brave and having good character traits. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters.

VAES Families, you can help VAES IN 3 STEPS!
1. Register on FUNRUN.COM on 10/31.
2. Connect to sponsors—friends and family who can donate to help our school.
3. Cheer on your child! (Come to the Fun Run on 11/9)
Also, be on the lookout for the Pledge Crown that will have more details.

Best,
Leslie Paynter
VAES Principal
