Voyager Academy Middle School News, Nov. 12, 2017

Dear VAMS Families,

Even though this has been a short week, it has been a very busy week!  There were tryouts for the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams.  We are very proud of all the students who competed for a spot on the teams.  Due to the number of interested students and the level of talent, our coaches had tough decisions as they determined who would be on the rosters.  Great job to all of the athletes!

On Monday and Tuesday, Mrs. Graham’s 8th graders crossed Ben Franklin Rd. and spent time at the lake testing the water quality.  They also looked for items that were polluting the lake.  Once they returned to class, each group shared their information. It was amazing to listen to the students discuss water quality as they shared the factors that determine the quality of the water.

On Friday, Nov. 3, our 7th graders shared their Climate Change Presentations.  It was obvious our 7th graders had completed much research and practiced sharing their presentations.  The students were very knowledgeable of their subject and were quick to answer questions.  Their presentations were outstanding as they displayed the creativity of our students.

The elementary students had their Boosterthon Fun Run.  Voyager’s drum line had the opportunity to perform before each of the Fun Runs.  The drum line is made up of elementary and middle school students.  Drum line is one of the Monday enrichment offerings.
