Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Sept. 15, 2019

We are moving right along and having fun as we learn.  We have such a great group of students and parents and a staff beyond compare.  I can never tell you enough how much I appreciate you all and your support.

Monday during professional development, our K and first grade teachers had a presentation on Guided Reading presented by Vickie Davis. Vickie is one of our Title I teachers and has retired from teaching. She is a phenomenal reading teacher and her passion and expertise in reading was evident during our staff development yesterday. Our teachers old and new learned new strategies and felt they can all add to their reading strategies. On September 23, the second and third grade teachers will have the same opportunity to learn from Vickie.

Ms. Graves, the assistant principal, and I have been observing classroom teachers.  I am always so proud of the work I see and the planning the teachers have done to prepare for their lessons.
