Voyager Academy Athletics News, Feb. 16, 2020

It has been a busy week for our athletic program here at Voyager. Our middle school girls and boys will host the first round of conference playoffs Friday 2/14 and with a win Friday can advance to the semi-finals Monday 2/17 and then on to the championship Wednesday 2/19. Come out and support our middle school athletes in their playoff run!


Our high school basketball teams celebrated senior night on this past Wednesday with a win for both the girls and boys.  It was an awesome night for all celebrating the accomplishments on and off the court for our senior basketball players and cheerleaders.  Both the girls and boys will host the first round of the conference tournament on Monday. Girls game set to start at 5pm followed by the boys game at 6:30. Let’s fill the gym to cheer for our teams Monday evening!

This past week our swim team traveled to Raleigh for States. It was a very exciting meet to watch and we had great success as a team.  We are very proud of these student athletes for all of their accomplishments. We even had a STATE CHAMPION!! Ede Kosik won first in the state in the 100 Freestyle!

200 girls Medley relay 5th

Cordi Murray- 9th in the 100 back
Faith Murray-13th 50 free 
200 girls free 4th
200 boys free 13th
400 girls Free 7th 
200 boys free 11th
Girls finished 6th out of 40 teams
Boys finished 26 out of 50

Our wrestling team hosted the first and second round of the dual meet state playoffs this past week and performed very well! They will be traveling this weekend to the individual state playoffs and we wish them great luck! We are very proud of these student athletes and all of their hard work this season.

Spring sports started this week at the high school level and we start next week at the middle school.  If you have any questions about tryout dates check out our website and the link on the right hand side mentioning tryouts! Also make sure to complete the Athletic Participation Form on the menu bar at the top so your student athlete can be eligible to tryout!
