Care Program Safety
In the wake of recent school shootings, I have inquired about having the school resource officer (SRO) remain on campus for an extra 2 hours each day. Since our current SRO is only contracted until 4pm each day, the cost for us to extend the contracted hours until 6pm for the remainder of the school year is $3000. That being said, the care program will be conducting different fund raisers in efforts to raise money for this goal. The sooner we are able to reach the goal, the better. If you would like to make a donation to this cause, you may do so by check, cash, or money order. The check should be made out to "Voyager Academy" and you should write "for care program SRO" on the memo line You may submit your monies to Latia Boney, or a lead staff member of the care program. Having an SRO remain until 6pm each day is beneficial not only to the after care students, but also the other Voyager students who may remain after school for tutoring, rehearsals, athletic events, etc.
It is very unfortunate that we live in a time where we have to plan for safety, however, the safety of our students and staff are a top priority. Please consider donating and/or supporting our fundraising efforts. Feel free to contact Latia Boney should you have any questions.

Enrichments
Enrichment courses will resume this week. If your student is currently enrolled in an enrichment class, please plan for them to attend their course on the scheduled day and time.

Spring Break Camp
Are you looking for a fun, innovative camp to send your child(ren) to during Spring Break? Don't hesitate to send them to Voyager! Our campsare full with math, science, and reading enrichment activities. Students even have the opportunity to be junior chefs during our cooking activity. This year, we will also enjoy a field trip to Palace Pointe in Roxboro, NC! I am also pleased to announce that we are providing hot lunch & snack as an option this year! The Care Program is hiring!
We are looking for awesome, kid-loving team members to join the care program staff for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year and summer camp! If you know of anyone who is interested in applying, please feel free forward this email to them, and have them contact me. High school students are not eligible for employment during the school year. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions!
