Dear VAES Families,
Our 2018, Jump Rope for Heart program raised almost $5,000 for the American Heart Association. Mrs. Derrick and Mrs. Flowe-Dawson want to thank everyone who helped by donating money to our fundraising project!!!
The top fundraiser from each grade level will get to teach a Physical Education lesson to their class after planning with Mrs. Derrick and Mrs. Flowe-Dawson. The students winning this privilege are:
Kindergarten- Cody Holder (Scarantino); 1st Grade- Emily Robinson (Ellis); 2nd Grade- Savannah DeJesus Ryan (Morgan); and 3rd Grade- Mehera Migliorisi (Quick). Emily Robinson and Savannah DeJesus Ryan tied as our top fundraisers for the school. Way to go!!!
Save the date for our VAES Science Night on Tuesday, March 27 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the elementary school. There will be fun activities and we are thrilled that Duke Chemistry Outreach will return with their programs and expertise!! All ages are welcome to attend; however, students must be accompanied by an adult.
