Project Exhibition Day Is Mon. Nov. 13, 2-3:45pm, And You’re Invited! Celebrate PBL With Us

The Voyager Academy community is warmly invited to Fall 2023  Voyager Academy High School Project Exhibition Day. Come see student projects in action and on full display, as we celebrate Project Based Learning.  Exhibition Day takes place at the high school on November 13th, Monday, 2-3:45pm.

"And Then There Was One" A Spoof!

You are cordially invited to the Theatre 2/3 Production of "And Then There Was One" A Spoof!

This take-off of Agatha Christie's famous stage mystery is all comedy, filled with hilarious sight gags and dialogue. Ten people are brought together by a mysterious invitation to the Reef Mansion on a time, isolated island. Not one of them knows the host, who is nowhere to be found. Still, he has left an ominous recording that bodes evil for the guests. Like the chocolate soldiers that inexplicably disappear from the mantel one by one, the guests begin to die one by one. Luckily, Inspector Miles is among the guests, but even his is stymied as to who the murderer could be. This delightful story doesn't miss any opportunity for lively comedy and humor.

Performances will be Wednesday 11/15 and Thursday 11/16 at 6:30pm in the Elementary School Gym.  Tickets will be $10 at the door.

We hope to see you there!

Happy Mole Day!

Students in Ms. Fortkort's Honors Chemistry class celebrated Mole Day on 10/23.  What is a mole you ask?  It's a collection of things (like a dozen) and in that collection there would be 6.02 x 10^23 items.  We use the term "mole" in Chemistry because atoms are so tiny that we need a HUGE number of atoms in order to work with them in a reaction.  To celebrate this enormous number and what it means, we heard Mole Day songs, colored pictures of moles, ate cake, and played Whack-a-Mole!  The ultimate winners of the very competitive Whack-a-Mole tournaments were Jack Rose, Julia Bledsoe, and Gabby DeFrate.  Students continue to work hard learning Chemistry and have fun whenever we can!

Diversity and Inclusion Club Food Drive

The VAHS Diversity and Inclusion Club is running a Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Voyager Academy Food Bank. Please donate nonperishable food items to the boxes during drop off and pick up during the week of Nov. 3 -17. Students may also bring food items to room  C116.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch

Students in Honors Chemistry are incubating eggs while they study ionic compounds like calcium carbonate, the main component of eggshells.  We had some fun creating some fun names for our eggs like Cluck Nolan, Pumpkin Spice, and Sesame.  Stop by to visit our "babies" anytime.  Hatching day is expected to be around November 28th.

Claim Your Photo (from Dia de los Muertos celebration)

Thank you for participating in the Spanish Honor Society's Day of the Dead celebration! We still have a few unclaimed photos. If you haven't collected yours, please contact Dr. Bankhead at sbankhead@voyageracademy.net to make arrangements to receive it.

Come By And Experience VAHS Student Artwork!

VAHS art students have been hard at work, practicing and refining their skills, exceeding even their own expectations. They are learning to "trust the process,” which is the prerequisite for working through the Creative Process! We invite you to stop by VAHS and check our students' beautiful artwork on display!
