Project Exhibition Day Highlights: Thank You To All Those Who Attended And Supported
VAHS had its Fall 2023 Project Exhibition Day on Monday, Nov. 13. Students were given the opportunity to present their works to the community, who in turn were able to see PBL in action.

NHS Fall 2023 Induction
The Voyager Academy National Honor Society proudly welcomes our Fall 2023 Inductees.
Members are chosen for their academic excellence as well as their embodiment of the NHS values of scholarship, character, service, and leadership.

The high school Theatre 2/3 students had two wonderful nights of performing their class play "And Then There Was One" A Spoof!

Voyager Grad Leads Durham Tech to Math Title
Zayden Parks, a Voyager graduate and Dragonslayer, participated in a math competition sponsored by the NCMATYC (North Carolina Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges). Durham Tech teams won First Place in the Team Competition and First Place in the Overall Competition. Zayden wore Voyager swag for the awards ceremony.

UN Security Special Forces Member Guest Speaks
Mrs. Hambrick's US History classes got a visit from Chris Young who served in Kosovo as part of a UN Security detail who trained local police on the ground during the Kosovo War. He also worked as a DOD contractor in Afghanistan. He provided great perspective to students on what police work can involve, both domestically and internationally.

Practice ACT for Juniors 1/13/24
The staff at VAHS is offering an optional ACT Practice Test Administration for current Juniors on Saturday January 13, 2024. This practice session will mimic the actual ACT State Testing being held at VAHS on February 27, 2024.The practice session is a great opportunity for students to experience the timing and testing conditions of a full length ACT. Durham Public Schools is offering 4 Driver's Education classes (via Zoom) during the 2024 spring semester.
Class dates:
Jan. 4th - Jan. 25th Registration for this class will be Dec. 9th at 9am
Before school class 6:30 - 8:30am
After school class 5:00 - 7:00 pm

April 15th - May 3rd Registration for this class will be March 30 at 9am

Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch
Students in Honors Chemistry are incubating eggs while they study ionic compounds like calcium carbonate, the main component of eggshells. We had some fun creating some fun names for our eggs like Cluck Nolan, Pumpkin Spice, and Sesame. Stop by to visit our "babies" anytime. Hatching day is expected to be around November 28th.
