My Appreciation and Student Artwork Pick-Up -Kelly Lavette, VAHS Art Teacher

I wanted to take a moment to thank all parents, teachers, administration, support staff, and students for your help in making my first year at VAHS the best year I have ever had in my 10 years of teaching! I truly appreciate ALL of you. It is a great feeling to have a "job" I absolutely love coming to everyday. As Mr. Patterson say, you will have to kick us out of here for us to ever leave and it is all because of you! Our students have talent and I will continue to challenge, push, and encourage them until they are able to see it in themselves.
VAHS feels like family and, having taught in several different schools, this kind of atmosphere is rare.

Students, you have worked so hard this year and I am very proud of all of you! With this being said, I have a confession to make. I have been hording your artwork! If you have left any artwork from 1st (or 2nd) semester,  please come by my room to pick it up as soon as possible and take it home! Also, if your work has been displayed in the halls, you can either come by my room and we can take it down OR you can leave it up over the summer and take home next year. While I would love to keep all of your beautiful work, I am running out of space to keep it and will not throw any of it away without speaking to you first. If you do not want the work, they make excellent gifts for your friends and family! Thank you everyone and I look forward to many years at Voyager Academy!

Share The Love: Support The VA Arts Building!

Share the Love by donating to the Voyager Academy Performing Arts Center! Voyager will be paying for the entire construction of the building with reserves saved over the years. However, we need your help to furnish the interior of the auditorium and with the purchase of instruments.

Your donation will go directly towards:

  • Sound Equipment

  • Stage Lights

  • Stage Curtain

  • Audiovisual system

  • 400+ Theatre Seats

  • Instruments for students

Every dollar counts - so donate what you can. In fact, during this campaign The Wilkinson Charitable Foundation, in partnership with Clean Green Environmental, will match all contributions up to $50,000!

So, Share the Love and double your contribution by donating today and help us reach our $50,000 match so we can raise $100,000 by the end of February!
