Our third graders have been fine tuning their editing skills during Writing Workshop by helping the first graders edit their realistic fiction stories! They are planning to celebrate their final writing together! Also, our first graders enjoyed having a beekeeper as one of their guest experts for their Third Trimester Misunderstood Animal Project.

Dear VAMS Families,
Even thought this was a short week, it was full of learning and full of fun!
Our students and staff celebrated Spirit Days. Wednesday was Wacky Tacky Day. Thursday was Twin Day and Friday was true School Spirit Day. We had our annual Student – Staff basketball games (girls and boys). Students had the opportunity to attempt a mid-court shot and/or a 3 point shot. Our teachers played very hard and scored points but our girls’ basketball team and boys’ basketball team were determined to outscore the teachers and they did! Based on the cheering and laughter, all students had a great Friday afternoon. Thanks to Student Council for coordinating and to Mrs. McKenna and Landon Lawrence for serving as MC.

- Viking Sprit Night! - Wednesday, March 6th
- Join the Voyager PTO at California Pizza Kitchen, Southpoint Location! Mention Voyager Academy when paying and we receive 10%. This special is running ALL DAY!
Also, shop at Barnes and Noble either online or at the Southpoint location and use our Voyager Bookfair ID number 12496840 from 03/06/2019-03/11/2019 for our school to receive 10% of all proceeds! Ms. Amy from the library will be onsite at the Southpoint location from 5p-7p with activities for the kids and some raffle opportunities! Come on out. Forward the attached flyers to your friends and family who can use this code online. Also purchases at Starbucks at the Southpoint location can also count towards funds raised.
The PTO is in the process of planning for Spring Fling. If you would like to be a vendor, or know someone who does, please email Emily Wilder at happyesw@gmail.com and she will send out our vendor app and other important information.

Voyager Academy Science Olympiad News, March 17, 2019
Elementary In-School SO Program Update:
This is our last week! We’ve had a fun 10 weeks filled with lots of science activities! The Ramp and Roll kids mastered forces and k’nex building. The Super Sleuths honed their investigation skills with water solubility, acid and base reactions, and using iodine to find starches. The Sky Quest students studied the constellations, planets and the other objects in our solar system. We will have activities inspired by each of these classes at Science Night on March 26th 5-7pm!
