It’s hard to believe that Halloween is over and it is already November! We hope you have enjoyed your weekend with family and are ready for another great week on campus. The fall festival last Friday was a huge success and we hope that you will always have some lasting memories and pictures form the event and scavenger hunt! Winter sports are underway so make sure you check out the athletics calendar included so you can attend the events and show your Viking pride!

Dear VAES Families,
We have had a fun week at VAES!! On Tuesday, we kicked-off our Boosterthon fundraiser with a pep rally and we have had a VAES spirit week!! I have really enjoyed seeing all the students dress up! Many of the costumes were so creative!!

Dear VAMS Families,
We have noticed that more and more families are “cutting it close” and arriving later. This week we had at least 55 students who were tardy. Please leave your house 5 minutes earlier in order to have your child get to class on time. Our school day begins at 8:15. If your child is not in the classroom when the 8:15 tardy bell rings, they are marked tardy. Habitually arriving late is a disservice to your child as much instructional time is missed as well as it puts them behind the entire day. Thank you for your help and support with this very important issue!

MAY 2018 GRADUATION DATE SET
The 2017-18 graduation date is now confirmed! Commencement ceremonies for the class of 2018 will be on May 29th, Tuesday at 5:00pm at the Carolina Theatre in Durham.
