Dear VAMS Families,
Wow, what a fast year! It’s hard to believe today was the last day of school. This has been a wonderful year. I am so proud of each of our students. Thanks to each of you for all of your support. We certainly could not do our job without your help!
COMING SOON
Student supply lists will be posted on Voyager’s website in the very near future. We will also share Open House/Pick Up Your Child’s Schedule dates along with dates for Curriculum Night. Be on the lookout!
Yearbooks
We have 5 yearbooks left! We will sell these on a first come, first serve basis. If you want to purchase a book for your child, please send cash or check. The cost is $35.00.
Report Cards
All students received their report cards today – that is if they attended school today!
If your child did not receive his/her report card, please stop by the office Mon. – Thurs. between 10:00 and 2:00 to pick up the report card.
EOG Scores
We have received our EOG scores but have not received the parent reports. It will probably be a couple of weeks before we receive the reports from DPI (Department of Public Instruction). Once we receive the reports, we will mail to you.
Rising 7th and 8th Graders – Bring Your Own Device to School
May 24, 2018
Dear Voyager Parents,
Voyager uses a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in grades 7-12. This means that students and their families provide, own, and maintain their own computers for use in school and at home. Voyager does not provide devices to students, except in cases of demonstrated financial need. We believe that this is the correct strategy for sustaining a student computing program that has become essential to instruction and learning at Voyager. We have outlined the details and expectations of the program below:
-Every student in grades 7-12 has a personal computing device.
-Each student brings his or her fully-charged device to school each day. This is considered a part of general preparedness to learn.
-Voyager maintains a sufficient pool of short-term loaner devices.
-The BYOD program is not a barrier to learning. If a student’s family is financially unable to provide a device, Voyager will provide one to the student. For the full
-BYOD program policy, please visit this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FkW0hEHX94wsDqSt1kZLREhG9ZyQAQX9MllBRB5kT9 Q/pub . This policy is also posted on the school website. We maintain a computer purchasing guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iN-3bazLcozLrSYKp4ru3-BH7KBcbLcOe7tyxO7AFsg/pub If you are unable to financially provide a device for your student(s), please contact Managing Director Jennifer Lucas directly at jlucas@voyageracademy.net .
