Dear VAMS Families,
Yes, work has begun! I am sure you’ve noticed the work that has been done this week in the preparation for our Voyager Stadium. It’s great to see the men at work. Process is being made!!!!
We had our second ACT Time this week! From what I am hearing from students and staff, ACT Time is being enjoyed by all. It is a time that students are learning about and working on Core Values – curiosity, confidence, reflection, empathy, and integrity. Please ask your child(ren) what they are doing in their ACT group, such as, if they have gotten to know Vikings from the different grade levels and if they have exhibited any of the Core Values.
Class Visits
Classroom visits have been quite interesting! Mr. Ellis’s class worked collaboratively to solve a mystery. The students were quite engaged in the problem solving process. Our seventh grade students also enjoy math especially when they are using manipulatives to solve the challenging problems provided by Mr. Lindquist. Our sixth graders who have drama as an elective are working on a play to be performed before their trimester is over. The students are creating masks to be used during their performances. Our teachers spend much time planning engaging lessons for our students.
7th Grade Immunization
Thanks to all of you who worked with your child’s physician to provide Voyager with updated immunization records. In the immediate future we will have to provide a report to the Department of Public Instruction so if we are missing your child’s immunization record, we need it ASAP. If you have questions, please send me an email.
Fall Pictures
October 29 is the make-up day for Fall Pictures.
Voyager’s Silent Auction
If you could not attend the Silent Auction planning meeting and are willing to help with the Silent Auction, please email Mr. Eisenson at aeisenson@voyageracademy.net. We appreciate all help! The Silent Auction is scheduled for Feb. 23 and will be held at Umstead Pines. Please put the date on your calendar!!!!!!!
GO PLAY SAVE Books
Thanks to all of you who supported the Go Play Save fundraiser. This fundraiser supports our athletic program. The middle school students either purchased or returned all books with the exception of 5. That’s awesome considering we have over 500 students. Thanks to all!
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt has agreed to partner with Voyager for this entire school year and now we have Viking Fro-Yo Fridays! Menchie's will donate 20% of every order to Voyager and the PTO.
