Dear Viking Families,
It was a great week on campus! The weather was lovely and we have some exciting news to share. This week we announced our candidates for the Outstanding Young Educator of the Year and Teacher of the Year at each building and Teacher Assistant of the Year. Please join me in congratulating the following exceptional teachers in our school:
Erica Moyer, Catherine Quick, Christina Vurnakes, Jody Schulze, Evan Greaves, Tanya Clark-Stover and Leslie Jewell!

Soon, one finalist from the Outstanding Young Educator of the Year will compete through the Durham Jaycees to win the Durham OYE and one finalist on campus will move on to compete in the NC TOY. Congratulations to all our candidates and thank you for what you do for children!
Secondly, BIG NEWS from our Performing Arts department:
Voyager hosted the Triangle Regional NCASA Show Choir competition on Saturday night and we are pleased to announce:
Bull City Lights and Sound won 1st place!
Vocal Affinity placed 1st Runners’ Up and NC State Show Choir Finals.
Here they come!!! Go Vikings Go!!!

Parents, we have shared information with you in the past regarding the dangers of vaping and just wanted to take a moment to reshare some current articles to help ou help your children.  Please be aware of any sign of use and please support our campaign to have a zero-tolerance for vaping in order to keep our kids safe!

2019 Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser
We need your help!

Do you enjoy playing golf and want to help a great cause, then join us on April 7th at Hillandale golf course for a day of fun, community building and have your money directly impact our students.  We are still looking for teams of four and hole sponsors to make this event a huge success.  
Sunday, April 7th with an 8 am shotgun start Voyager will be hosting its annual golf tournament fundraiser.  There will be awards for the first and last place teams, as a fundraiser, every team is equally important, a 50/50 raffle, and a great lunch will be provided by El Rodeo North Duke Mall.

Spring Break Camp!
Are you looking for a fun, innovative camp to send your child(ren) to? Send them to Voyager! Our camps are full with math, science, and reading enrichment activities. Students will enjoy activities like jeopardy, fun-math relay, and writing/performing a play for their camp peers. Students even have the opportunity to be junior chefs during our cooking activity. (Yes, they will cook)! This year, we will also enjoy a field trip to Palace Pointe in Roxboro, NC! This camp IS open to school-aged students who do not attend Voyager.  As a reminder, there will be no camp/ school on "Good Friday," April 19, 2019! Visit our website to register!
