Hello Middle School Families,
It was a busy week at the middle school! It was obvious there was a big change in the weather. I think our students were thinking spring had arrived. Please remind the students to stay focused, complete their work and turn in their work in order to receive credit.
Parents of Rising 9th Graders
Parents, you have asked about a 9th grade Parent Information Session. Stand by, a date will be provided to you in the VERY near future!
Military Connection Form
Please complete the Military Connection Form that has been emailed to all of you two different times. The completed form needs to be returned to the middle school office if your child is military connected. Thanks for taking time to complete and return!
Author Scott Reintgen speaks to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Our students had the opportunity to hear Author Scott Reintgen, former Wake County teacher, talk about the process of writing a book. The student audience was terrific. They had many questions to ask Scott. Great job Scott, students, and Mrs. Allen for coordinating!
FYI – Reports cards
If you still have not received your child’s report card, please check the bookbag! All report cards have been given to students unless the student has been absent since Jan. 6.

Sunshine Award
Our Sunshine Committee has been very busy this year celebrating our teachers. This week the recipient of our Sunshine Award is our 7th grade Core Connections teacher. Congratulations to Mrs. Dino Mangano! Mrs. Mangano is consistently cheerful and is always willing to help her students and colleagues. She is a problem-solver and maintains a positive attitude no matter what is happening. She brightens each day and makes our school a happier place.
SchoolStore Fundraiser
Last week your child/children received an envelope with pictures of tshirts, sweatshirts, and/or hoodies on the envelope. Spirit and Pride (part of our SchoolStore fundraiser) has created Voyager spirit wear. If you want to purchase spirit wear, please complete the order form and return to your child’s teacher. Friday, January 24 is the last day we will collect orders.
AUCTION
It’s back – Voyager’s Auction! The date of the auction is March 27. Mrs. McKenna and Mrs. Kelly Andrew are coordinating. Be on the lookout for more information!
