TEACHER SHOUT-OUT: I just wanted to say thank you to the teachers for their dedication, patience, and creativity. A special shout out while teaching PE. The skills are so wonderful, you are so patient explaining and answering all questions. Most importantly, the students are so engaged and moving their little bodies so fiercely. I didn’t know what PE on Zoom would look like, but I will say, it sure has surpassed my expectations!
We love the K-3 teachers at Voyager Academy. Let me start by saying thank you to all the teachers for their commitment. I really appreciate your patience and continual effort to provide the best education for all students.
My husband and I have been very pleased with the work of the kindergarten team to try to make virtual school the best they can for the kids. The kindergarten team has been creative in finding ways to try to keep the learning fun while the kids are learning virtually. The WIN Wednesday introduction has been good for our family. Our daughter enjoys the fun hands on activities on the choice board. Our daughter’s teacher, Ms. Scarantino, has been particularly helpful in being available and supportive in brainstorming ideas to make the learning experience better for our daughter when she started to push back more on virtual school. Mrs. Kope’s weekly lunch bunch has been great for our daughter in giving her a way to socialize and make new friends from school. You can tell Mrs. Scarantino and Mrs. Kope really care about the kids and their well being!! We wanted to make sure you are aware of the incredible job the teaching staff is doing during this stressful and difficult time for teachers!!

HIGHLIGHTING ELECTIVES THIS WEEK: The elective teachers at VAES are ROCKING it! They seek to provide quality age appropriate instruction each week. Check out our Weekly Parent Update in School Messenger for some great photos and videos. In our Lego class kindergarten students reviewed shapes, colors, and letters. The 1st grade class created homemade etch-a-sketch machines. 2nd grade made Lego paper cars and our 3rd grade students whipped up delicious edible Lego bricks/treats. Now, that is some creativity!
