Hello Voyager Academy Elementary Families. We hope you have had a wonderful week of learning and exploration. Listed below are some important updates for you and your family for the week of November 16-27:
NOVEMBER 26 IS THANKSGIVING DAY: Voyager Academy will be closed November 25, 26 and 27 in recognition of Thanksgiving.
MASK PRACTICE: As we begin to prepare for returning to in-person instruction in January, I would like to encourage you to begin having your child practice wearing their face mask for long periods of time. All students and staff will be required to wear a face mask at all times (except for a period of time during lunch) when we return to in person instruction. It would be very helpful if you would begin having your child wear their face mask during morning meetings or for a one to two hour period during the school day as we prepare them for the transition.
CAN YOU HELP? As you are out shopping or shopping online and you see clorox or cleaning wipes, will you consider purchasing an extra set to give to the elementary school. You can leave it by the academy door when you are picking up your weekly packet. These items are very difficult to come by so if our families can help us get prepared for January, we would certainly appreciate it. Voyager parents are simply the best!
COHORTS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED: We are now ready to prepare for our Voyager Academy Hybrid Learning Model which is slated to begin January 5, 2021. Students have been carefully placed into three cohort categories.
Cohort A: These students will receive in-person learning on Monday and Tuesday and will receive remote instruction on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Cohort B: These students will receive in-person instruction on Thursday and Friday and will receive remote instruction on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Remote Cohort: These students have elected to remain remote learners throughout the remainder of this school year. They will receive remote instruction 5 days per week.
Thank you for understanding that due to classroom capacity concerns, the ability to move students from one cohort to another is not possible.
KINDNESS MONTH AT VAES: Voyager Academy Elementary School understands the importance of integrity, hard work, acceptance, and kindness. World Kindness Day is Friday, November 13th and Voyager Academy will be celebrating this amazing character trait all month long. Will you join us? The elementary school will host its November K-3 Virtual Assembly on November 20th as we highlight KINDNESS!
