Voyager Academy Middle School News, Feb. 10, 2023

Hi Middle School Families,

Wow, what a beautiful day we are having today! Our students are excited to be outside in some warm weather.

HELP!!!!!! We recognize that some of you may need to drop off students prior to 7:45 for chorus practice, etc.  If you need to make a drop off, please drop off at office area.

Black History Month

We have been so excited that our Student Council has been providing Black History Trivia questions!  We have all learned lots.

PARKING SPACES

Please do not park in one of the numbered parking spaces.  All of the spaces that are numbered are for the staff.  The spaces at the MS are in front of the MS, in front of the soccer field, in front of the Hock House and around the edge of the pond.  The space may be empty when you arrive but remember the spaces are for the staff even if they have not arrived before you have arrived.  Thanks so much for not parking in the numbered spaces. !

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK has been wonderful! The Voyager Academy PTSO provided a week of fun, food, and special surprises. The week was made of the following: snacks,  breakfast,  Candy Bars, lunch and  Cash Giveaway.

Round 2 Check Ins.

The results from Round 2 of the check ins are back. It’s obvious that our students took this process seriously based on the results.  It’s also obvious that our teachers are doing quality teaching!  You should have received an individual student report that will provide Check Info to you.

Attendance Info

Parents, THANK YOU for getting our students to school on time. The attendance committee met today and we will be contacting some of you regarding students not being in school and/or getting to school late.  When your child is sick, please email us so we will know why your student is absent or send a doctor’s note.

Several of you received an email or a call regarding your child’s lateness and/or absences. We recognize that many of our students have been sick and we understand why they are not at school.  It is helpful if you send a note regarding attendance or send a doctor’s note if possible.  If we do not hear from you we usually mark it unexcused.

Computers

We  need our 6th, 7th and 8th graders to bring their laptop daily to school charged and ready.

CAR LINE REMINDER:  I want to remind everyone that it is very important to strive to follow all car line procedures so that we keep everyone safe.  If we all would just follow procedures, carline would run even smoother and more quickly.  Recently, we have had an issue with cars not waiting in the car line and trying to get back in the line at the road between the elementary school and the high school.  We have now placed our SRO at this location to help remind everyone of the importance of staying in line and waiting their turn.  We also have parents who are being rude to each other in hopes to move one position.  PLEASE be kind to each other!!!!!

PROSPECTIVE FAMILY MEETING:  Voyager Academy  hosted a VIRTUAL prospective family meeting on February 1 at 5:00 pm.  We hope the info you heard helped answer your questions.

MONDAY’S SCHEDULE:  Each and every Monday, Voyager will dismiss students at 1:15 pm.  Since our staff attend meetings every Monday, it is imperative that students are picked up on time.

The Titan Family Portal and LINQ Online Ordering system work together like a checking/ debit card account.  All student lunch accounts must be preloaded with funds for ordering.  Parents then order lunches for students based on the funds availability in their Titan account. Families who have a negative balance on the account will no longer be permitted to order lunch online. Please be sure to send your student(s) to school with lunch if no meal was ordered. If your student's lunch account currently has a negative balance, we please ask that you pay this balance as soon as possible by either form of payment:

Online at  https://family.titank12.com  There is a $2.80 flat fee charged by the bank per deposit online. (Example: $100 deposit + $2.80 fee = $102.80)

A check/ money order made payable to Voyager Academy. Please include your child's name and id# on the memo line. You can also use this pre-printed form.

Lunch menus are published for the month of October. The lunch ordering rule is a week in advance. If you need assistance email foodnutritionservices@voyageracademy.net.
