NEWS FROM ELEMENTARY: Happy Spring Break! Can you believe the end of the school year is in sight? The following announcements will be helpful for you and your family for the week of April 17-21.
THE ART EXTRAVAGANZA WAS INCREDIBLE: Thank you to the students who worked so hard to create such beautiful art for our 2nd annual art show. Thank you to Voyager Vocals for providing us with lovely music and thank you to the 3rd grade students for serving refreshments. A very BIG thank you to Mrs. Davis (our art teacher) and Mrs. Sawyer (our music teacher) for putting this special night together.
SPRING BREAK IS HERE: The students and staff members will be out for spring break April 7-17. Students will return to school on April 18th.
APRIL 17TH IS A TEACHER WORKDAY: The staff will return to school on April 17th to prepare for our last few weeks of school. The students should plan to return to school on TUESDAY, APRIL 18TH.
CLASS PHOTOS TAKEN OCT. 21: Strawbridge Studios will be with us on Oct. 21 to take whole class photos.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Some of our Voyager students will be participating in the NC Special Olympics on Oct. 21. Please join me in wishing them the very best.
AWNINGS: We are so excited to announce that our carline awnings are expected to be installed over spring break. We are hopeful the construction will be finished before we return to school. IF IT IS NOT COMPLETE, WE WILL NEED TO RE-ADJUST CAR LINE SINCE WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO UTILIZE PART OF OUR DRIVE. We will keep you posted!
EOG TESTING: End of Grade Testing in the areas of Math and Reading (for all 3rd grade students) will take place on May 11 and 12. Mark your calendars now!
END OF YEAR MCLASS ASSESSMENTS: Students in grades K-3 will begin completing their end of the year reading assessment April 18-May 9. It is time for the students to show us all they have learned this year!

AUTHOR VISIT TO VOYAGER: We are excited to announce that author and illustrator, Darren Farrell, is coming to visit Voyager Academy students on Thursday, April 6th! He is the author of several books including Give This Book Away, Dandelion Magic, and Letter Town: A Seek-and-Find Alphabet Adventure!
While he's here, Mr. Farrell will be sharing one of his books and teaching our students about the writing and illustrating process! We are so excited for his visit!

SPRING FLING: SAVE THE DATE:
SUMMER ENRICHMENTS: Summer Enrichment registration is now here. Registration will open starting February 17th through April 14th. Enrichments will be offered Monday through Thursday for 3 weeks during the month of June. Beginning June 5th and ending June 22nd.There will 3 different session times offered depending on the individual enrichment. There will be a google form used to register for each individual enrichment. Each enrichment must meet the minimum number of participants before payment will be assigned in Titan. You will receive an email letting you know that your student is being placed on the roster, based on a first come first served basis. You will have until April 14th to make the payment. If your payment is not made your spot will be forfeited and will be given to the next student. CHICK-FIL-A READING CHALLENGE: We are so honored to partner with Chick-Fil-A on Roxboro St. They will be giving a FREE gift card to students every month who read 15 books. The April challenge has begun. As your child reads or you read to your child, please record the books on the reading log and return it to your child’s teacher once you have 15 books listed. Your child can earn one free gift card per month.
MONDAY’S SCHEDULE: Each and every Monday, Voyager will dismiss students at 12:45 pm. Since our staff attend meetings every Monday, it is imperative that students are picked up on time.

People may choose to wear a mask for any reason at any time.
People with a positive test for COVID-19 MUST wear a mask for 10 days.
People with symptoms or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask and get tested.

BIRTHDAY ROCK: The Voyager Birthday Rock is such a popular thing! We hope you and the students enjoy seeing the various birthday designs. The Birthday Rock is available on a sign up basis.
