SPRING FLING THANK YOU: Thank you to all of you who attended or participated in the PTSO Spring Fling. It was an amazing event.
VOYAGER ART DISPLAY: Mrs. Davis, our art teacher, was able to select 5 beautiful art pieces to be displayed in the Hock House Library Building. Congratulations to the following students who will now have their art on display in the Hock House:

TEACHER ICE CREAM BAR: The Voyager PTSO will be hosting an ICE CREAM BAR for all teachers and staff on May 12th. FIELD DAY WAS A BIG HIT: Field Day was incredible! Thank you to everyone who came out to help us give our students such a wonderful experience.
SENIOR PARADE: Voyager seniors will be participating in their annual Senior Parade on May 10 at 10:00 am. The elementary students will participate in this amazing event as we wish our seniors the best of luck.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: May 24th is our last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 on this date. There will be NO aftercare offered on this date. ALL students must be picked up at 11:15 am.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR: We are pleased to announce the elementary teacher of the year–elementary teaching assistant of the year and elementary young educator of the year. Please join me in congratulating these amazing teachers.

MRS. FLOWE-DAWSON IS RETIRING: Voyager families, Mrs. Marie Flowe-Dawson will be officially retiring at the end of this school year. She is an incredible PE teacher and your students LOVE her. I wanted to give you all an opportunity to reach out to Mrs. Dawson to thank her for her many years of service. She has indeed helped our students learn that it is important and fun to be physically active!
EOG TESTING: End of Grade Testing in the areas of Math and Reading (for all 3rd grade students) will take place on May 11 and 12. Mark your calendars now!
READ TO ACHIEVE CAMP: Read to Achieve Camp is available to qualifying 3rd grade students this summer. If your child needs to attend this camp, parents will receive a letter from the school. The dates and times for Read to Achieve Camp are: June 5-22 from 9:00 to 1:30 (Monday -Thursday).
1st GRADE PROJECT CELEBRATION: On May 4th our first grade students shared fairy tale plays with our community. The students re-wrote the fairy tales and then performed them. They also learned songs to go with their fairy tales. Examples of the songs they learned are linked below.

END OF YEAR MCLASS ASSESSMENTS: Students in grades K-3 will begin completing their end of the year reading assessment April 18-May 9. It is time for the students to show us all they have learned this year.
FIELD TRIPS: We have several end of the year field trips coming up. It is awesome to take learning on the road!

CHICK-FIL-A READING CHALLENGE: We are so honored to partner with Chick-Fil-A on Roxboro St. They will be giving a FREE gift card to students every month who read 15 books. The May challenge has begun. As your child reads or you read to your child, please record the books on the reading log and return it to your child’s teacher once you have 15 books listed. Your child can earn one free gift card per month.
MONDAY’S SCHEDULE: Each and every Monday, Voyager will dismiss students at 12:45 pm. Since our staff attend meetings every Monday, it is imperative that students are picked up on time.
UPDATE FROM SCHOOL NURSE: Our CDC COVID-19 Community Level is: LOW
People may choose to wear a mask for any reason at any time.
People with a positive test for COVID-19 MUST wear a mask for 10 days.
People with symptoms or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask and get tested.

BIRTHDAY ROCK: The Voyager Birthday Rock is such a popular thing! We hope you and the students enjoy seeing the various birthday designs. The Birthday Rock is available on a sign up basis.
