VAHS Posts Its Highest AP Scores Ever

Our 2023-24 AP students didn’t stray too far from the books last year as they posted best test results in the school’s history.  VAHS had a pass rate of 74% (The pass rate is the percentage of tests taken that scored a 3, 4, or 5.).  The N.C. pass rate in 2023 was 59% (2024 not available yet).  Congratulations to our hard working students, and a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to our awesome AP teachers!.

Introducing: “High School Hangs at the Hock” (Library Time For High Schoolers)

Been a while since your student has visited the library? Starting Monday, September 9, the Hock Media Center will be open just for high school students from 1:45-3:45 p.m. Students can browse our book selection, work on homework, or just relax. Anyone who finishes our "get to know the library" scavenger hunt in September will be entered in a drawing for a $15 gift card to Chick-fil-A. Questions? Email Ms. Dillon at adillon@voyageracademy.net. Hope to see you soon!

Testing Macromolecules In Biology Class: Who Murdered The Victim?

Students worked in groups to create a hypothesis and test the "stomach" contents of our victim to see if the boss, roommate, or girlfriend was the culprit. They used four different chemical testers to see if the victim ate simple carbs, complex carbs, lipids (fats), and/or proteins. After all the tests and results, students concluded that it was the girlfriend!!! If you would like to know more, feel free to reach out to one of our Biology students or to me, Mrs. Punt.
