On Monday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 13, we are having two teacher workdays. Therefore, next week, students will not have school on Monday and Tuesday.
All Voyager Viking Families are invited to wear your green and attend our 2nd Annual Family Game Night on Friday, March 16 from 6-8pm (click here for details) in the Elementary School gym. We will play Viking Bingo and have $1 concessions available for purchase. You may also bring games to play and share with friends. It is sure to be lots of fun!! Save the date for our VAES Science Night on Tuesday, March 27 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the elementary school. There will be fun activities and we are thrilled that Duke Chemistry Outreach will return with their programs and expertise!! All ages are welcome to attend; however, students must be accompanied by an adult.
Earlier this week, our School Resource Officer (SRO) noticed some very unsafe driving practices during carline and asked me to send a message to all parents. This was sent on Wednesday, but want to be sure that everyone understands.
- Do not allow your children to unbuckle their seatbelts and hang out of car windows as you are driving through the carline. Children are to unbuckle as you are pulling up to the drop off zones. The SRO said that many accidents happen in parking lots
- Do not speed in the carline. Some cars are speeding up very quickly as the cars are going from one lane coming up the hill into two lanes. Then they are slamming on their brakes.
- Once you are in a lane, do not switch lanes. Pick a lane and stay in it!
- Last, but not least, stay off your cell phones while you are in carline.

Last Friday, the kindergarten students celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss! I wanted to include some of the cute pictures. Enjoy!!
