Dear VAMS Families,
It’s been a busy week at Voyager Middle School. Due to all the rain our baseball, soccer, and softball teams are spending their practice time in the gym. The games begin next week. Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Wicker are working with our students who are participating in the Spring Musical. The dates for the musical are April 12, 13, and 14. Be on the lookout for more info! Our Science Olympiad teams will show their talents on Saturday during Regional Competition. We know they will represent Voyager well!

Car Line
Wow, what a difference the change in our afternoon car line process has made! Students are in the classrooms watching for their name to appear on the active board or listening for the “ding” to see whose name appeared!
We need some help from you! Our car line could be over by 3:45 if everyone made it to car line on time. We really need your help. Please make sure you are in line by 3:40 so we can finish our dismissal on time. Beginning Monday, students waiting for pick up will walk to after care at 3:50.

6th Grade Garden Project
Our 6th graders continue to work on their Garden Project. Part of the project is to write letters to area businesses requesting donations to support their work. The letters were mailed last week and the students are beginning to hear from area business. We appreciate the support from all! Yes, we have received two more letters!

8th Grade Wax Museum
The Wax Museum shared by our 8th graders was fantastic. It was amazing how many celebrities were in the building. Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Ernest Hemingway, Abraham Lincoln were a few of our guests. The students researched their important person to learn much about the person he/she was representing. It was great to visit each student and hear the information learned and shared.

7th Graders to Raleigh
Our 7th graders enjoyed a trip to Raleigh, NC on Friday. They had the opportunity to visit the North Carolina Museum of History and Natural Sciences. The students learned much about North Carolina and were excited about their trip and what was learned.
