Dear VAMS Families,
Wow, what a busy and exciting week! There was much learning inside and outside the building. We received our benchmark reports and we made progress in reading and math at all grade levels. Our students worked hard to show what they’ve learned!

Mr. Price
Congratulations to Mr. Price! He has been named Voyager Academy’s Teacher of the Year. Mr. Price is an outstanding educator. It is always a pleasure to visit his classroom and observe all the learning that is taking place. We are proud of Mr. Price and know he will represent Voyager well as he enters the next round of competition.

Sixth Grade Garden
The sixth graders have been extremely busy this week gathering all the materials they needed for their garden project. Home Depot delivered a load of lumber on Thursday. Students began building their garden boxes on Friday. With the help of many parents, several boxes were completed. The old soil was moved to the wooded area and is free to any one who can use it. It’s on a first come, first serve basis. The soil is in the wooded area across from the garden. When you are in car line make sure you check the 6th grade garden.
MADAGASCAR, A Musical Adventure
If you did not spend an evening at the middle school during our Madagascar performances, you missed terrific performances. The performers were outstanding! The musical included acting, singing, dancing, and audience involvement. Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Wicker spent many hours preparing out students for the 3 shows. Our show included students in grades 2-8. It was obvious the students had a great time performing to a full house all 3 nights. Thanks to those of you who attended to support our students and our drama department.
