See VAHS Honors Theatre Arts Students in Action
Honors Theatre Arts students were tasked with a project that would "silently" make a difference in their school.  Five seniors created a video addressing a cultural/social need in Voyager Academy High School's environment. These students used their miming skills to create a pantomime about the stresses of school, the effects of home life in the academic setting, and how just being a friend and reaching out to someone you may not know could sometimes make all the difference.  Congratulations to Joshua Brewer, Will Hofmann, Lama Khachab, Julia Rosemond, and Jules Woodward on this exceptional work!

Something’s “Fishy” in AP Environmental Science
After reading “The Tragedy of the Commons” by Garrett Hardin the students participated in a simulation lab to explore resource depletion. In the lab the students got to go fishing for goldfish in a lake that was stocked with a predetermined amount of fish (only Mrs. H knew how many they had). They had to make sure they had enough to feed their family (1 you starve 2 or more you can sell) but....watch out take too many and the lake would be overfished as the fish left in the pond only have one baby a year!! It was great fun and good competition in the blind and silent round then round two when they could see the lake and fish and were allowed to communicate I was so impressed with the maturity in the decision being made for the good of the “village” and our resources.
