Voyager Academy Elementary School News Aug. 11, 2019

I can’t begin to put into words how great this week has been for me, our staff and students!

Our teachers worked all through the summer to prepare for the return of our children. Their rooms are clean thanks to our wonderful Mr. Robert Frye.  During the summer and workdays, teachers brought in new rugs, new decorations, prepared bulletin boards, hung instructional materials and all the other necessities to guarantee a smooth opening.

On behalf of the teachers and staff, I would like to thank all the very generous parents for bringing in supplies.  Your generosity and support mean so much to all of us. It is a true partnership, and I couldn’t ask for a more supportive staff and parents.  It goes without saying, and the best kiddos in the world. Thanks for allowing us to serve your child and for trusting us with your most precious child(ren).

I know parents suffered through car line the first couple of days, and we are really working hard to work through the glitches.  Thanks for your patience during this time. As you can see, Thursday was very smooth and successful. If the elementary parents who pick up middle schoolers as well could come around 3:05, it would help tremendously to prevent a gridlock.  Elementary only, if you could come between the 2:45 and 3:05 time block, you could be off campus and avoid middle school traffic. Thanks for your continued support with our carline procedures.

I am truly blessed to be the instructional leader at Voyager Elementary.  My goal along with our new assistant principal, Mrs. Graves, is to make every decision based on what is good for kids, support our staff, and to listen to our parents’ concerns.  I have an open-door policy, and I enjoy a visit for a concern or well-being. This is going to be a grand year with us working as a team. Enjoy your weekend!
