Dear VAMS Families,
Wow, the first four days of school were terrific! It was exciting to see all of our students both “old and new”! I am so very proud of how our students returned to school – ready to learn, as well as, displaying proper school behavior. Many of our students have exhibited our Core Values which are: Confidence, Empathy, Integrity, Reflection, and Curiosity. I can tell 2019-2020 is going to be a fantastic school year!
Parents, thank you so much for the support you have provided Voyager Middle School. Our job is much easier because of all of you. I know carline has been “interesting” this week but I also know that each day has been better! I really need your help to ensure that carline continues to improve.
Our morning carline has been terrific the past couple of days. I think when we changed the path leaving campus, it helped to quickly exit cars.
Beginning Friday, we blocked the entrance at 2:30. We will continue with this practice as it allows elementary parents to arrive and exit with no problems. It also allows parents who pick up an elementary and middle school student to exit the elementary school and arrive at the middle school safely! Once we take the cones away, it allows parents who are only picking up a middle school student to move through the carline with no problems.
If you are picking up an elementary student AND a middle school student, please do not arrive before 3:05. It really helps the flow of traffic in and out of the elementary school. Once you leave the elementary, you can come to the middle school and we will be ready to key in your child’s number.
If you are ONLY picking up a middle school student, please do not arrive before 3:15. Remember you come in the entrance off Ben Franklin and loop around the pond.
It is VERY important for you to have your blue card displayed in your car window in order for us to quickly key in the student’s/students’ number. If you do not have a blue card and/or number, please email me.
I will send information to you this weekend regarding the REMIND app with the code needed for each grade level. You will need the new info that I send you in order to receive REMIND texts.
GoPlaySave books have been sent home. Thanks for supporting our athletes by participating in the selling of the books. You can purchase online, you can send a check or you can send cash. If you decide not to purchase the GoPlaySave book, PLEASE send the book back to school. The middle school is known for selling the most books. Let’s keep the tradition going! If you need more books, we can certainly get the books to you.
