Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Nov. 3, 2019

Hi ES Families!
Time Change This Weekend:
I hope you are as excited as I am about the time change coming up for us this weekend. Remember that the EST will FALL BACK from 2:00 AM on Sunday morning to 1:00 AM.  Hopefully, the new time will keep some of us from waking up or driving to school in the dark. At least, we gain one hour of precious time!

Celebrations:
Please join the Voyager family in congratulating Laurie Whitnack, one of our many special teacher assistants. Laurie never gave up her dream to be on “Wheel of Fortune.”  She waited and waited to hear if she had made it and finally the letter came to her that she would be on this year. After being notified that she was going to LA for the big event, she and hubby, Matt, made the fun trip.  After she returned to work, we all begged her to share the results with us. She signed a legal document not allowing her to give any hints, clues or information to us about how she did. A week before the show was to be aired, she was able to share the viewing date with us.  We all watched and learned how well she did on the program. She solved the most puzzles and answered the final question in a few seconds!! Laurie was beautiful, calm, and poised. We are all so proud of her moment on the stage. She represented Voyager and herself well. As usual, she never disappoints.  What a night, what a celebration, what a grand total sum of $$$$! Congratulations, Laurie!!

Fall Festival:
Fall festival was a big hit and may have been the biggest and best yet.  We all had a great time. Many thanks to all of our PTO members and especially to Emily Wilder and all of the volunteers she convinced to help.

K Project Celebration:
K students presented their project celebration this past Friday. Thanks to all of the parental and family support. Our teachers and kids work hard on their projects and it means a lot to them to get to have you as an audience to view their work and give them praise for a job well done.
