Tyler Goss Knocks it Out of the Park at Pitch Night
Last Monday night, Tyler Goss and his team presented their District C project to TEKsystems during “Pitch Night” at Raleigh HQ.

What is District C?

The program teaches high school students how to collaborate online and face-to-face to solve real problems. Teams of four diverse students from four different schools work together to solve a current problem for a real business. Tyler’s group worked on solutions for TEKsystems. He and his team dedicated out-of-school time for three weeks to create and propose a solution that they presented to the company on Pitch Night. Throughout this experience, he was coached and supported by accomplished and experienced professional business partners and educators. The experience is designed to help develop the skills and resources needed for the future of work.  Tyler is also building a network of professionals that will support his career development in the future.  This is project-based learning at its best. Great work, Tyler!

FAFSA Opened October 1st – File as soon as you can!
If seniors need financial aid to help  pay for college, families must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. The 2020–21 FAFSA form just opened this week on Oct. 1, 2019. Families should fill it out as soon as possible. Federal funding is limited, so experts urge students and families to file their FAFSAs as soon as possible.
There are some great articles posted on the Counseling Department Blog about how to get started on the FAFSA!
