Voyager Academy Middle School News, Nov. 17, 2019

Hi Voyager Middle School Families,

It's been a very busy week at Voyager Middle School! On Tuesday evening we celebrated our middle school athletes who participated in Fall Sports. Our student athletes were extremely successful but more importantly, they always showed great sportsmanship!  Great job, student athletes!

On Thursday night our Chorus participated in the Fall Chorus Show with the high school. The students performed at Page Auditorium on Duke's campus.  It was an outstanding performance by all. I have to say our middle school chorus was FANTASTIC. Ms. Wicker had the girls ready to perform! We also had fourth and fifth graders join the performance.  They had one day of camp and gave a fabulous performance with the middle school and high school students. Great job, Ms. Wicker!

Friday night was our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade social.  The students had a great time. It was obvious there was much energy in the gym.  The students did not slow down until it was time to go home. Thanks, Student Council, for coordinating this fun evening for our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders!

Next week is NC Check In week for the middle school.  Check Ins are similar to benchmarks. The Check Ins are created by the Department of Public Instruction. We use the Check Ins to gage what we have taught as well as the strengths and areas of need for each student.  It's important that the students are at school and on time on each of the days. We will start Check In administration at 8:30 so we need all students to be in their class no later than 8:15.
