From the Managing Director's Desk, Feb. 23, 2020

Good Afternoon Viking Families,

Wow! What a week of snow days! We hope you enjoyed a little bit of extra time (albeit unexpected) with your family and enjoyed the snow. After such a short week we are ready to see all our students tomorrow on time and ready to learn!

Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Feb. 23, 2020

WOW!  Winter weather surprised us all last week.  I appreciate you all being flexible with our calendar as we have changed the dates of some events.  We will reschedule report cards going home on Tuesday instead of last Friday.  K Project Celebration will be held this coming Friday, February 28, at 11:30.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Feb. 23, 2020

Hello Middle School Families,
I must say this was a most unusual week!  Our teachers had outstanding professional development on Monday.  We had Project Based Learning professional development in the morning and Diversity Training in the afternoon.  Presenters for both sessions were terrific! On Tuesday our committees met and discussed the year and began talking about next year.  Teachers also had time to work with their team and time to work in their own class. Wednesday was a day of learning along with lots of chatter about the possibility of snow!  Thursday and Friday were snow days. I enjoyed the beautiful snow and tried sledding but the snow was too fluffy!

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Feb. 16, 2020

Hello Middle School Families,
Happy belated Valentine’s Day!  Friday was a terrific day at Voyager Middle School!  Our students were excited due to Valentine’s Day. Our Theatre Arts Program was very successful with their Valentine Gram Fundraiser. The team shared that 200 grams were purchased and delivered to middle school friends. I used the Valentine Gram fundraiser to surprise members of my ACT (Achieving Character Together) group. Thanks Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Wicker for providing this opportunity to students and staff!

Good Afternoon Viking Families,

First let us say thank you so much for all the families who supported us last week during the inclement weather and for helping us ensure student safety. We know that Friday was an inconvenience after starting school and then dismissing, but we do our best with the information we have, but this time around we didn’t get it right.  We hope you enjoyed the day off, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday. Below is a message form the Governing Board. Please note the link inside the message to our Board application for anyone interested in joining our Board. Below that, please see the information to sign up for Spring Break drivers ed class.

Hello Middle School Families,
What an ending to a terrific week!  I can’t thank you enough for all the support you gave the middle school through the tornado warning, the downpours of rain, and the loss of power in the middle of our car line on Friday.

From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, Feb. 2, 2020

Good Afternoon Viking Families,We ended this week with some snow flurries and wet weather. Thanks to all of you who drove safely and helped us with transporting kids. Remember to keep a lookout for possible inclement weather advisories over the next month or so.   We hope your high school students had a blast at the winter dance! Please share any fun pictures of our kids on our Facebook pages! As we continue to monitor our students and staff for illnesses, please take a moment of caution of your children have flu symptoms and help us keep our buildings healthy for all. If your child has flu-like symptoms, please keep them home until they are symptom free for 24 hours.

Voyager Academy Elementary School News, Feb. 2, 2020

It is that time of year that illnesses including flu and strep have become rampant in our building. This is affecting students and staff. We want to remind you of our policy regarding fever and illness as noted on page 34 of our Parent and Student Handbook.

Voyager Academy Middle School News, Feb. 2, 2020

Hello Middle School Families,

Can you believe this weather – sunny days, cold days, rainy days, and snowy days?  What a difference it makes in the school day!!!! Teachers are doing a terrific job instructing our students with projects, hands on science lessons, math lessons using manipulatives as well as a variety of additional activities.

Seventh grade parents, ask you child what this math lesson taught them!
