Remote Learning Has Been Extended to the End of December

With input from the (multi-stakeholder) Reopening Taskforce, the Voyager Academy Leadership Team has made the decision to extend our current remote learning model to the end of December.  The team also decided to solicit feedback from the community about how our remote learning model has gone for students and parents for our first three weeks. Families will also be receiving a form asking if they would like their Voyager student to remain in remote learning for the entire year, regardless of the school’s decision to return to in-person instruction.

Be on the lookout for these two questionnaires:

- A survey asking for your input about how remote learning has gone for your Voyager student during our first three weeks.

- A form to register to remain in remote learning for the entire year, regardless of the school’s decision to return to in-person instruction.

Turn on those Cameras

Students are highly encouraged to turn on cameras during class. It makes for a much better connection, not only with the teacher, but with classmates. And feel free to be creative and set a cool background. We've seen everything from cartoon characters to inside of a moving spaceship to a chocolate covered doughnut (a favorite).

How Teens Across the Country Are Staying Mentally Healthy

Did you know animals do this.....

The awesome Zoology zookeepers are hard at work this week after learning all about animal adaptations. After Mrs. Huntington triumphantly creating “conference rooms” in Zoom and not losing anyone we were able to get to work exploring our favorite animals that have the adaptation we were assigned. We are excited to share our findings with our fellow keepers!

Honors Bio-Molecules

We are stacking monosaccharides and making carbohydrates in biology honors this week as we take a fun filled trip through the world of biomolecules. The students are working on their own unique way of presenting what they learned to the class through an alternative way of assessment. They were able to choose from several different projects ideas to present the information learned in the lesson and each was presented to the class.

AP Home Run!

Congratulations to the students of AP Human Geography!  You all did an outstanding job on the AP Exam.  (We just got our results in July.)  Your hard work and dedication paid off!  We are so proud of you all!  Great work! Way to go Mr. Mills!

The Freshman/New Student Orientation Challenge 2020!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Orientation Challenge!  There were a lot of you and so we are still tabulating scores.  We hope to have that done by the end of the month and prizes will be awarded.  Thanks also to Ren and Dallas for helping to tabulate the results.  Amazing job to several parents who not only participated in their children's videos, but also did Run and Yell!  I am sure those memories will be dinnertime stories for years to come!
