The Hispanic Education Parent Fair is an initiative of the NCSHP to promote and disseminate information on the benefits of formal and higher education among the Hispanic youth of North Carolina.  This event is focused on reaching out to the parents of Hispanic Students in order to provide them with the tools and information to help their children succeed in school and encourage them to pursue higher education. https://www.thencshp.org/mi-exito-la-universidad

Remote Learning Has Been Extended to the End of December

With input from the (multi-stakeholder) Reopening Taskforce, the Voyager Academy Leadership Team has made the decision to extend our current remote learning model to the end of December.  The team also decided to solicit feedback from the community about how our remote learning model has gone for students and parents for our first three weeks. Families will also be receiving a form asking if they would like their Voyager student to remain in remote learning for the entire year, regardless of the school’s decision to return to in-person instruction.

Students Must Regularly Check Their Voyager Academy Email Accounts

Voyager Academy High School strives to make all students career and college ready. Good email communication skills are essential for a student to experience that success.

Parents, please remind your students to check their VAHS student emails often. This account is set up so that the staff can readily communicate with the students through a secure server. Also please remind your students to use their VAHS email account when emailing teachers as many times their personal emails do not contain their names or are inappropriate and we do not know who is contacting us in regards to an assignment or question.

Ordering 2021 Graduation Items (Like Caps and Gowns)/Class Rings

Families of Juniors and Seniors are required to fill out a Contact Card with Herff Jones in order to establish a direct contact. Learning Chemistry without a Lab....

Usually the best part of Chemistry class happens when students are actively engaged in experiments where they can see for themselves how chemicals react with each other.  This year, we have to get creative with our experiments because we cannot be in our laboratory.  As part of our recent study of mixtures, students were challenged to find ways to separate different mixtures using techniques like filtration, distillation, crystallization, and sublimation.   Here is a link to a slideshow created by students with an example of how to separate a mixture.
