VAHS Teacher of the Year, and Outstanding Young Educator of the Year
This week we announced the VAHS Teacher of the Year and the Outstanding Young Educator of the Year. One of the things that makes these honors so special is that the recipients are selected by their colleagues. So please join us in congratulating two special teachers:
VAHS Outstanding Young Educator of the Year: Nicole Whitby, Choir Teacher
A sample of the comments about Ms. Whitby from her colleagues:
“Nicole has really taken the reins of a big and successful program as though she’s a veteran. It’s hard to believe that she’s a first year teacher!”
“Ms. Whitby is one of the most organized teachers. She does so much extra ‘behind the scenes’ to make the vocal music program succeed.”
VAHS Teacher of the Year: Dalila Lilly, Science Teacher
A sample of the comments about Ms. Lilly from her colleagues:
“I really enjoy working with Dee - her positive energy and creativity work well together to engage her students!”
“Ms. Lilly has come into our school and embraced the students as her own. She has an amazing talent for finding fun ways for high school students to learn about science and to capture their attention. She is a great colleague who is always willing to chip in and help wherever needed. She always has a kind word for everyone and is a dedicated teacher. She is a teacher and person I strive to be like.”
Congratulations Nicole and Dalila!!
