COME JOIN OUR TEAM
Join us for a Recruitment Orientation on March 24th, 1-2pm.
Voyager Website Lists the Openings
Middle School Upcoming Spring Sports Our baseball team began play this week. Their home games will be played at Butner Athletic Field. Our softball team begins play in the near future and their home games will be played at Bull City Little League. !
Our girls soccer team is ready to begin their season. Their home games will be at Voyager.
Vaping 101
The POE Center in Raleigh will be at Voyager Middle School on March 21. The purpose of the visit is to meet with our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to provide a presentation regarding Vaping. We hope our students have not chosen Vaping as something they want to do. If so, hopefully the presentation will discourage all of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and show how harmful Vaping can be.
Spring Fling April 28th
Mark your calendar for Spring Fling! Games, food, fundraisers and more!
–
SPRING Pictures
Students will have Spring Pictures taken on Thursday, March 23. Students may have individual pictures and group pictures. This year the group picture will be of all the students in the grade level. For example the group picture for 8th grade will be of all the 8th graders. We will also have some sports pictures taken on the 23rd.
Report Cards will be emailed next week. As soon as all grades have been entered into Powereschool (the deadline is tomorrow, Friday) Mrs. Hawkins will begin working to create the report cards.
Check Ins number 3 will be March 29, March 30 and March 31. We will
begin our assessments promptly at 8:30 so we need all students in their classroom no later than 8:23.
UPDATE FROM SCHOOL NURSE: Our CDC COVID-19 Community Level is: Low
**Masks are continued to be worn indoors and that is great and symptoms of illness, COVID-19 testing is highly recommended
People with a positive test for COVID-19 MUST wear a mask for 10 days.
People with symptoms or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
Culture and Climate Survey- Don’t forget to complete your survey!
The culture and climate team members are working together to finalize the surveys and roster files for students, families, and staff. We anticipate sending out surveys by the end of the month and look forward to getting your feedback. It was great to partner with a group of students to get their input on the survey design and for their assistance in creating a video that will be shared in the near future. Thank you to Cayson Clayton, Amaris Iwari, Ryann Cochran, Umar Chaudhry, Jude McDonald, Taylor Cuthriell, Ena Scott-Benson, Thaddeus Robinson, Maura Carden, and Maximus Oliva-Juarez. We appreciate their insights and talents.
BOARD MEMBER OPPORTUNITY: Are you interested in serving on the Voyager Board of Directors? Applications are being accepted. Details about the application process are linked here. Feel free to share with people you know outside of the Voyager community who may also be interested in serving on our board. Children and grandchildren of board members receive priority in the lottery.
Just another reminder!!!!!
PARKING SPACES
Please do not park in one of the numbered parking spaces. All of the spaces that are numbered are for the staff. The spaces at the MS are in front of the MS, in front of the soccer field, in front of the Hock House and around the edge of the pond. The space may be empty when you arrive but remember the spaces are for the staff even if they have not arrived before you have arrived. Thanks so much for not parking in the numbered spaces. !
Attendance Info
Help, the attendance committee met today and we will be contacting some of you regarding students not being in school and/or getting to school late. When your child is sick, please email us so we will know why your student is absent or send a doctor’s note. Several of you received an email or a call regarding your child’s lateness and/or absences. We recognize that many of our students have been sick and we understand why they are not at school. It is helpful if you send a note regarding attendance or send a doctor’s note if possible. If we do not hear from you we usually mark it unexcused.
CAR LINE REMINDER: I want to remind everyone that it is very important to strive to follow all car line procedures so that we keep everyone safe. If we all would just follow procedures, the carline would run even smoother and more quickly. Recently, we have had an issue with cars not waiting in the car line and trying to get back in the line at the road between the elementary school and the high school. We have now placed our SRO at this location to help remind everyone of the importance of staying in line and waiting their turn. We also have parents who are being rude to each other in hopes to move one position. PLEASE be kind to each other!!!!!
We need our 6th, 7th and 8th graders to bring their laptop daily to school charged and ready.
MONDAY’S SCHEDULE: Each and every Monday, Voyager will dismiss students at 1:15 pm. Since our staff attend meetings every Monday, it is imperative that students are picked up on time.
We are so excited to have Mr. Sweed Dalton back at the Middle School. Mr. Dalton is working with our 8th graders who need some extra support in Math. Mr. Dalton will certainly have the students working and learning.

The Titan Family Portal and LINQ Online Ordering system work together like a checking/ debit card account. All student lunch accounts must be preloaded with funds for ordering. Parents then order lunches for students based on the funds availability in their Titan account. Families who have a negative balance on the account will no longer be permitted to order lunch online. Please be sure to send your student(s) to school with lunch if no meal was ordered. If your student's lunch account currently has a negative balance, we please ask that you pay this balance as soon as possible by either form of payment:
Online at https://family.titank12.com There is a $2.80 flat fee charged by the bank per deposit online. (Example: $100 deposit + $2.80 fee = $102.80)
