Voyager Academy High School News Oct. 8, 2017

STUDENTS MUST BRING THEIR DEVICES TO SCHOOL
Voyager Academy requires that every student in grades 7-12 have his or her own laptop for use in school and at home as a part of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. Students use their computers extensively for academic purposes. Most software, resources, and services that students utilize are cloud-based and accessible via a modern web browser. Students use Google’s G Suite for office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc), so Microsoft Office is not required.  Please make sure your student has his/her laptop and charger with him/her at all times.

YEARBOOK PICTURE MAKE-UP DATE IS OCT. 18
All high school make-up yearbook pictures will take place on Wednesday, October 18 in The Commons. This will include all Senior yearbook pictures as well as yearbook pictures for grades 9-11.

Any adults in the Voyager Family who would be willing and able to help with this Interview Project, please contact Mr. Baker at dbaker@voyageracademy.net.

AP BIOLOGY & AP ENV. SCI.  FIELD TRIP: OFF TO MARINE QUEST AT CMS IN WILMINGTON!
The AP Biology and APES class are going to be taking an exciting 2 day field trip on Oct 30th and 31st to Wilmington, NC. While there we will be spending the day with the folks at the Center for Marine Sciences at UNCW and taking part in their Marine Quest program. The students will be able to wade in the marsh to collect macroinvertebrate samples, look at the health of the local sea life, go kayaking, tour the facility, and have lunch with the students that run the program. Then on the second day there the students will be touring Fort Fisher Aquarium and UNCW main campus.
The students are VERY excited about this opportunity as are Mr. Ingram and myself. I am currently working to have the orgs.online payment system setup to begin taking payments so please watch for the link by early next week. We will need 3 parent chaperones and will take them on a first come first serve basis.
Please feel free to email me with any questions at chuntington@voyageracademy.net
Thanks!!
