It was
a great week on campus and we only have a couple weeks to go before the long
holiday break. Hopefully you saw our message inviting any qualified VA students
to take a private drivers ed course during break from Jan 2-6th at
the VA high school. If you are
interested, please email me directly as this course needs at least 10
participants to remain open.
As the
winter weather season has arrived, please remember we will continue to follow
the inclement weather alerts for DPS. We will post on our website and via
remind any immediate alerts, but we will plan to follow the closures, delays
and closed announcements that DPS posts for your safety. As you all know, our calendar is created to
manage lost instructional time due to weather, so unless our season is
unexpectedly hazardous, we will have enough days/hours built in to the schedule
to cover any down time. We will advise you if this should change.
The new
2018-2019 calendars have been posted on our website. Contrary to months of work
and expectations, we have decided to maintain the early release Mondays for the
next 2 years. Our calendar will operate much the same as it has for the past 2
years and our teams will work together to continue professional development
plans and parent conference days. Thanks
as always for your patience as we carefully worked through our options to
ensure that academic achievement and student success remains our top priority.
Please join us for our monthly EXPO
meeting. Our guest speaker, Patti Doyle, from the Exceptional Children’s
Assistance Center (ECAC), will present information about IEP Best Practices. We
will meet on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the VAES Art Room.
Hope to see you there!
Regards,
Jennifer
